What can Relationship Counselling here do for you?

The primary focus is on improving communication and resolving conflicts between couples. This serves as an important first step for those experiencing difficulties in their relationships, including instances of hostile interactions. By enhancing your understanding of both your own and your partner’s emotional responses and behaviours, you can develop more effective strategies to manage them.

This service also emphasises the importance of cultural and racial sensitivity, as well as awareness of power and privilege imbalances. Being mindful of these factors can help couples approach each other with greater care and consideration. Although often overlooked, these elements play a crucial role in relational interactions.

Explore troubling issues in a creative therapeutic relationship

Another Hope Counselling is a trauma-informed service, thrilled to offer a service that directly relates to the quality of your relationships and, in turn, your overall quality of life. Life can throw challenges our way, leaving one hopeless and thinking that a healthy relationship is just out of reach.

Issues like rejection can cut so deep. When it arises, whether intended or perceived, emotional turmoil can feel overwhelming. Frustration and a sense of loss, feeling trapped, set behaviour. Stress response, internal conflicts, and struggles to seek better might push you toward an unwanted decision. But hey, you can try something new by reaching out here.

I feel stuck in a rut! Here’s a mindful Approach

Working together is a collaborative and innovative approach; we genuinely understand your needs and identify what keeps you stuck. It takes two to tangle. Our work can help you identify and engage in taking ownership of your process and parts, and unlearn or overcome patterns. This can mean rediscovering your potential, developmental needs and growth. This work is for you, whether you are looking at •breaking negative cycles in your relational patterns, whether individually or in a relationship. •relationship issues, such as infidelity, affairs, lack of trust, or intimacy gaps. •In couples and family relationships, conflict resolution, finding common ground, setting boundaries, and managing expectations. Each session is tailored to help you recognise the unique challenges that shape your experiences, enabling you to make clearer, more informed choices.

A Personalised Relational Model Approach

Couple in Raincoats

Every relationship is unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to resolving issues. My work helps you and your partner better understand yourselves and know and meet each other’s needs as much as possible.

Personalising couples counselling here offers a specialised Relational model. Each session involves assessing each partner individually, exploring several levels of awareness —cognitive, emotional and more—, and, together, gathering information, drawing up an overview and a formulation, and continuing the work collaboratively.

Connecting on several levels and depth

It is an approach that offers a compassionate, multi-layered couple’s work. For instance, in premarital counselling, exploring materials emerging in the couple’s joint sessions in a separate space to support their therapy (Porter 1993), while being attuned to each person to help them work through personal issues or resistance to relating to one another. This approach promotes partners’ feelings of being heard and connected.
