Youth Counselling

Manage Emotional Transformations with Youth Counselling

Through our therapeutic and working relationship, I offer a safe space for young adults and youths to build self-awareness. It is backed by the core belief that if an individual is given the right environment, they can self-actualise, understand, and navigate the impact of problematic experiences. Sooner support rather than later can stimulate a young person's development to grow a healthy self-image with a sense of belonging, self-worth, competence and purpose.

I offer a safe space for young people to build resilience alongside self-awareness by developing therapeutic and working relationships with them. The environment strives to encourage young people and stimulates their curiosity to rediscover and engage with their natural abilities. It promotes a healthy self-image, improved self-esteem, sense of belonging, self-worth, and competence to grow in line with a person's natural developmental stages.

In today's world, primarily due to social media, most youths are most likely suffering from anxiety, depression, and loneliness as they develop a sense of constant comparison of themselves to others on social media. At Another Hope Counselling and Psychotherapy Service, I work closely with young people and, as necessary, with parents and caregivers to give the best support possible for young people's psychological well-being.

Some of the Major issues that youth experience –

  • Depression and anxiety: Many young people experience symptoms of depression or anxiety at some point in their lives. I strive to help the youth manage symptoms and improve their mood with the help of therapy.

  • Trauma and abuse: Experiencing trauma or abuse can have a lasting impact on a young person’s mental health and well-being. I work towards helping you make sense of your experiences, develop coping strategies to move forward healthily, and, where possible, heal from the past and thrive.

  • Developmental Issues: Young people’s experiences can stunt their developmental progress, resulting in several relational issues. I work with a curiosity to understand each youth’s process, to reflect this to the individual, and to encourage self-awareness and growth.

  • Relationship issues: Building healthy relationships is a crucial part of adolescence but can also be challenging. Whether you’re struggling with peer conflicts, relationships, or family dynamics, I can help you navigate these issues and build more robust and supportive relationships.

  • Academic stress: The pressures of scholarly achievement can be overwhelming, especially in a competitive and fast-paced environment. We can work towards improving your way of managing stress and anxiety, your study habits, and your ability to balance school and other areas of your life.

As a qualified and experienced counselor, I am here to listen and understand your needs and situations, particularly where you are struggling. My goal is to help you comprehend and make sense of your negative feelings. I firmly believe that seeking help early on in life can equip you with the understanding and tools needed to effectively deal with negative emotions in the future.

I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment for all youths, regardless of their background, beliefs, or identity. Every young person deserves the support and guidance they need to thrive. I am committed to working closely with individual young people confidentially to ensure they receive essential care.
