Youth Counselling

Manage Emotional Transformations with Youth Counselling

Recent statistics show that youth are becoming increasingly anxious. In our therapeutic and working relationship, I offer a safe space for young adults and youth to build self-awareness and esteem. It is based on the belief that if an individual is given the right environment, they can self-actualise, understand, and navigate the impact of problematic experiences.

Having the necessary support sooner rather than later can stimulate a young person's developmental process and help them grow a healthy self-image with a sense of belonging, self-worth, competence, and purpose.

I offer a safe space for Youths and young people to build resilience alongside self-awareness by developing therapeutic and working relationships with them.

The environment of our sessions strives to encourage and stimulate their curiosity so that they can rediscover and engage with their natural abilities. It promotes a healthy self-image, improved self-esteem, sense of belonging, self-worth, and competence to grow in line with a person's natural developmental stages.

In today's world, primarily due to social media, pressure and increasing reliance on external resources, most young people and youths are most likely to suffer from anxiety, depression, and loneliness as they develop a sense of constant comparison of themselves to others on social media.

At Another Hope Counselling and Psychotherapy Service, I work closely with young people and youths to give the best support possible to enhance their developmental and psychological well-being.

Some of the Major issues that youth experience –

  • Depression and anxiety: Many young people experience symptoms of depression or anxiety at some point in their lives. I strive to help the youth manage symptoms and improve their mood with the help of therapy.

  • Trauma and abuse: Experiencing trauma or abuse can have a lasting impact on a young person’s mental health and well-being. I work towards supporting you to have meaning and maiking sense of your experiences, develop coping strategies to move forward healthily, and, where possible, heal from the past and thrive.

  • Developmental Issues: Young people’s experiences can stunt their developmental progress, resulting in several relational issues. I work with a curiosity to understand each youth’s process, to reflect this to the individual, and to encourage self-awareness and growth.

  • Relationships & Peer Pressure: Building healthy relationships is a crucial part of adolescence but can also be challenging. Whether you’re struggling with peer conflicts, relationships, or family dynamics, I can help you navigate these issues and build more robust and supportive relationships.

  • Academic stress: The pressures of scholarly achievement can be overwhelming, especially in a competitive and fast-paced environment. We can work towards improving your way of managing stress and anxiety, your study habits, and your ability to balance school and other areas of your life.

As a qualified and experienced counsellor, I am here to listen and understand your needs and situations, particularly where you are struggling. My support can help you comprehend and make sense of your negative feelings.
