My Approach
A Professional Collaboration, Alliance and Therapeutic Relationship with You
My name is Adeola Iluyomade, a passionate and Integrative Psychotherapist and therapeutic counsellor here at Another Hope Counselling and Psychotherapy Service. I work with individuals and Groups, including couples, families, and Youth.
How I Work
My approach to therapy is pluralistic, relational, and trauma‑informed. I believe that people are experts in their own lives, and that therapy works best when it is collaborative and shaped around your unique needs, goals, and cultural context.
Pluralistic Approach
I draw from a range of therapeutic models — including counselling and psychology, CBT, systemic perspectives, and contemporary trauma‑informed approaches. This allows us to work flexibly, integrating different methods depending on what feels most helpful for you.
Relational Focus
The therapeutic relationship is central to my work. I aim to create a space where you feel safe, respected, and able to explore your experiences at your own pace. I pay close attention to how we relate, what feels supportive, and what helps you feel understood.
Trauma‑Informed Practice
I work with an awareness of how trauma affects the body, mind, and relationships. This includes prioritising safety, choice, pacing, and emotional regulation. You will be encouraged to share when you feel ready.
Culturally Responsive
Our identities and cultural backgrounds shape how we experience the world. I work with sensitivity to race, culture, gender, sexuality, faith, migration, and the wider systems that influence our lives.
Person‑Centred and Culturally Attuned
I value working in a person‑centred and comprehensive way. This means:
• listening deeply to identity‑based experiences
• understanding the wider systems shaping your life.
Collaborative and Reflective
We will regularly check in about how therapy is going, what is working, and what might need adjusting. Your feedback is central to the process.
Understanding the Whole Person
My broader background in corporate and support settings helps me understand how work, stress, relationships, and socioeconomic factors influence emotional well-being. I am attentive to your emotional, relational, and interpersonal needs so we can focus on what truly matters to you. Together, we build trust, foster self‑discovery, and maintain confidentiality throughout the process.
Open to Client’s needs with Curiosity and a Solution-Focused approach
Therapeutic Models I Draw From
I integrate a variety of evidence‑based approaches, including:
• Psychoanalytic and psychodynamic perspectives
• Systemic and interpersonal processes
• Cognitive‑behavioural therapy (CBT)
• Internal Family Systems (IFS)
• Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
• Transactional Analysis (TA)
• Contemporary counselling psychology frameworks
This integrative approach allows us to work in a way that feels meaningful, responsive, and tailored to you.
A Flexible, Open‑Minded Approach
I bring openness, curiosity, and flexibility to the therapeutic process. I recognise that starting therapy can feel daunting, and I aim to create a therapeutic relationship that feels safe, respectful, and collaborative. To encourage you to feel valued and understood as you share what matters most to you. I invite you to engage with an open mind so that new insights, understandings, and possibilities can emerge as we work together.
A love of learning is one of my core strengths. It fuels my curiosity about human experience and continues to shape my development in counselling, psychotherapy, and psychology. I also offer coaching and mentoring on request, where appropriate.
A Supportive Space for Insight and Growth
I offer a supportive environment where you can explore your goals, deepen self‑understanding, and discover more of your potential.
Spirituality and Faith
If spirituality or faith is important to you, I work with openness and sensitivity. For clients who value the Christian faith, I can integrate biblical principles where they are appropriate and meaningful to your journey.
Mind, Body, and Neuroscience
My advanced counselling skills allow me to explore the interconnectedness of the spirit, soul, and body, and how these influence your choices and experiences. With additional training in psychology, I am attuned to biological and neuroscientific perspectives and draw on current research to strengthen evidence‑based practice.
Short‑ and Long‑Term Therapy
Therapy can be short‑term or long‑term, depending on your needs. Weekly sessions often provide the most continuity, but I also offer fortnightly or flexible arrangements when needed.

& Depression

Have you given up on yourself for being in a perpetual low mood?
Are you feeling low, Anxious, and worried to the point that it affects your everyday life? Well-being can mean recognising and listening to your inner child’s needs to boost self-esteem. This awareness can improve your internal family system - within you. It can help manage thoughts, emotions, and your overall thinking or experiences that may have kept you stuck.
Another Hope Counselling and Psychotherapy offers a holistic trauma-informed service with a focus on childhood trauma. This space can help you identify and address root cause issues that trouble your mind. The therapeutic relationship can be dynamic.
Anxiety relates to future fears and worries, while depression relates to past experiences, which can promote disconnections within yourself. These two conditions are the most common mental health issues individuals face in today’s societies—they underlie most health symptoms and problems. I offer specialised therapies, including mindfulness, and I adapt my therapeutic approaches around your symptoms to help you make sense of your experiences. I understand that seeking treatment for anxiety and depression can be uneasy, and I strive to provide support and guidance with these challenges.
Existential Counselling & Therapy

Are you struggling to find meaning in life?
At Another Hope Counselling, Existential Therapy can be integrated into the framework to explore deep-seated questions about life, including finding meaning, purpose, and identity. It helps you explore unique experiences so you can reflect on how you view things. This can involve a self-view of existence, and anxieties about taking up space in the world.
The essence is that as you find meaning and purpose in life, you can take more personal responsibility for understanding your behaviours. Sessions will empower you to review your self-directed actions and strategies and redefine how you see the world.
Clients can lead happier, more fulfilling lives by connecting with themselves internally, exploring their beliefs and actions, and developing the power to change their thoughts and outlook on life. These can help one to generate better results and experiences. As an integrative therapist offering an existential counselling approach, I help individuals explore their true beliefs. My approach involves creating a safe and supportive environment in a therapeutic relationship to help you start to engage with yourself by taking space to explore these deep-seated questions.
My experience working with different communities in and outside the UK informs my culturally responsive and relational approach.
